Veterans Endowed Scholarship Fund
Hello and Welcome to the Veterans Resource Center's Giving Day project.
We are working on raising funds to create an endowed scholarship in the name of Staff Sergeant Matthew Thompson. Endowed Scholarships become active once they reach $25,000. Currently, we have a $10,000 pledge and are working on the remaining $15,000 before the interest can pay out to veterans whose tuition is not fully funded by the GI Bill.
Staff Sergeant Matthew Thompson graduated from Concordia University, Irvine with a BA in Theological Studies in 2011. He was killed in Afghanistan on August 23, 2016 while supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel. The Veterans Resource Center was renamed after Matthew on Memorial Day 2017. One of the ways that you can support Matthew's legacy is through his Endowed Scholarship.
The Grand Opening of the Staff Sergeant Matthew Thompson Veterans Resource Center will be held on Friday November 10, 2017 at 11:11 am here at the Concordia Irvine campus, outside between the Administration Building and Founder's Hall. Afterwards, all are welcome to tour the center in Admin room 104.
Thank you for your support, you are appreciated.
God bless you
