Eagles Helping Eagles
Each year, the Alumni Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to currently enrolled undergraduate students with evidence of service and activities that demonstrate how they are becoming wise, honorable and cultivated citizens.
Students apply for a scholarship by completing an application describing both their on and off campus activities and any leaderships positions. In addition, applicants complete a one-page essay demonstrating the experiences that have helped them to become a wise, honorable, and cultivated citizen as a result of their Concordia experience. After a preliminary judging process, the final candidates are asked to participate in an interview with the Alumni Fund Committee. This process is a step in the preparation for future job interviews, as well as an opportunity to connect students with alumni.
For the 2017-18 academic year, 7 students received this scholarship of $1,000. Each of them have the opportunity to renew their scholarship for up to two additional years, as they continue to exhibit behaviors and engage in activities that assist in their growth process becoming wise, honorable, and cultivated citizens. All students are also required to maintain a 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA.
This record setting year of Alumni Scholarships was made possible by the generous donations of alumni, parents, families, and friends. Thank you for your consideration of giving to the Alumni Scholarship Program! Every dollar amount counts!
