Building a Community Garden

The Heritage Garden at Concordia University is a place where campus and community gather and engage to learn, serve and lead as caring, responsible stewards of God's creations. In keeping with our mission statement, we are in the process of building a community garden consisting of approximately 60 raised garden beds. Once constructed, we'll be looking for students, faculty, staff and friends to adopt garden beds and take care of routine tasks like harvesting vegetables and herbs. In keeping with the longstanding Concordia tradition of serving our community, a portion of all vegetables harvested will be given to the underserved and underresourced of Orange County.

The garden beds consist of 123 gallon galvanized steel cattle stock tanks and cost $200 each. We currently have eight garden beds. Our goal is to have 60 beds by the end of the semester.

We appreciate any support you can give to this project.

May God bless you today

Goal $12,000
