The DCE Mexico Project provides an introductory opportunity of cross-cultural service and learning in an accessible manner for students preparing for DCE Ministry. Director of Christian Education students will learn the planning aspect and administrative logistics for leading future trips like this in their ministry to people of all ages. DCE Program Director, Rebecca Duport, partners with Lutheran Border Concerns Ministry to connect students with a local congregation to provide 50 bags of food, lead Vacation Bible School and build a home in their local community for a family in need.
This will be our third year providing this opportunity for our DCE students! All aspects of the trip are planned and prepared by the students, including meals, travel arrangements, security, finances, budgeting, group dynamics, supplies, and leadership for VBS and the construction project.
Your donation will help provide the funds needed to reach our goal of building two homes in 2018 while also off setting the cost of lodging, travel and food for 20 students during our 4 night/5 day experience. Students will stay at a secure residence in Rosarito Beach during Spring Break in March.
